Overview
Chicago Hope Academy (CHA) and Chicago Lions Charitable Association (CLCA) are coming together to create an inspirational 20-acre development in the North Lawndale neighborhood of Chicago. Present Future Architects is working with both organizations to develop the new turf athletic fields, fieldhouse and community spaces for CLCA on the south parcel and a new 400-student high school for CHA on the north parcel.
CHA’s high school will be positioned to the west of their existing track & south of their existing athletic facility. The school will include a high-performance auditorium, robotics & maker space, library, music & arts program, science labs, breakout rooms, press box & pre-function spaces for athletic viewing and performance training space. In addition, all core academic classrooms have direct access to outdoor terraces that expand the learning environment and take advantage of both natural light & ventilation. The connections between the school, the east athletic track & field and the expansive garden along the west side create an unparalleled experience different from any other Chicago area high school.
